Ülkemizde gelişim dönemleriyle ilgili yapılan çalışmaların yaygınlığına bakıldığında, “yaşlılık” döneminin&#13;
yeterince ele alınmadığı, bununla birlikte geriatri, psikoloji, psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik, sosyal çalışma&#13;
gibi bilim dallarında yaşlılık ile ilgili çalışmaların yürütülmeye başlandığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca burada&#13;
sözü edilen yaşam dönemlerinin yalnızca bilime değil edebiyata da konu olmaya başladığı dikkat&#13;
çekmektedir. Edebi eserlerin analiz edilmesinde psikoloji biliminin önemi düşünüldüğünde, lisans&#13;
öğrencilerinin yetişmesinde öğrencilerin dikkatini romanların psikolojik tahliline çekmenin önemli olduğu&#13;
düşünülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda bu araştırmanın temel amacı, edebi eserlerin temelde psikolojik danışma&#13;
ve rehberlik, psikoloji ve sosyal hizmet gibi bilim dallarında özelde ise “gelişim psikolojisi”, “yaşlılık&#13;
psikolojisi” ve “yaşam dönemleri ve uyum problemleri” gibi derslerde nasıl kullanılabileceğine ilişkin bir&#13;
model sunmaktır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirebilmenin en uygun yollarından biri ise nitel bir araştırma yöntemi&#13;
olan “doküman analizi” yöntemini kullanmaktır. Bu doğrultuda, çalışmada Fransız yazar Jean-Louis&#13;
Fournier’in (2012) “Son Siyah Saçım ve İhtiyar Delikanlılara Bazı Öğütler” isimli eserin Türkçe çevirisi&#13;
doküman olarak kabul edilmiştir ve içerik analizi ile incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu çalışmanın yukarıda&#13;
sözü edilen derslerin öğretiminde etkili olabileceği düşünülmektedir.; Considering the prevalence of studies on the developmental period in Turkey, it is evident that “old age” is&#13;
not adequately addressed. However, studies have begun to be conducted in disciplines such as geriatrics,&#13;
psychology, psychological counseling and guidance, and social work. Additionally, it is noteworthy that&#13;
the life cycles mentioned here have become subjects of not only scientific inquiry but also literature. In the&#13;
analysis of literary works, given the importance of psychology, it is deemed important to draw students’&#13;
attention to the psychological analysis of novels in undergraduate training. Accordingly, this research aims&#13;
to present a model of how literary works can be used in disciplines such as psychological counseling and&#13;
guidance, psychology, and social work, and in courses such as “developmental psychology,” “old age&#13;
psychology,” and “life cycles and adaptation problems.” One of the most appropriate ways to achieve this&#13;
aim is to use the “document analysis” method, a qualitative research method. In this regard, the Turkish&#13;
translation of the French author Jean-Louis Fournier’s book (2012), titled “My Last Black Strand and Some&#13;
Advice for Oldboys,” was taken as the document and examined using content analysis. In conclusion, it is&#13;
believed that this study can be effective in teaching the courses mentioned above

What does morality entail? This question has been answered with a rather narrow outlook in psychological literature for years that is not harming and being fair. With the advance of research on recent decades, the understanding of morality has been quite expanded. Advances in different fields enabled a more comprehensive outlook to morality. Specifically, moral foundations theory (MFT) claimed the existence of other additional moral principles, such as loyalty, authority, and sanctity. The current research inquires lay understanding of morality with two qualitative studies. In the first study, we used MFT’s specific moral foundation definitions to understand how they are perceived by participants. In the second study, we used a more unstructured way and tried to understand how they describe morality, moral person, and immoral person. Results confirmed the pluralistic outlook for the morality, along with some suggestions for the modifications and more concise operational definitions of moral foundations. Liberty, as a late addition was supported as a moral foundation along with broader aspects. The results extend MFT outlook with individual, societal and universal level moral principles and offers new research avenues such as moral emotions, virtues, and vices.; Ahlak kavramının içeriği nedir? Bu soru yıllar boyu psikoloji literatüründe kısmen dar bir bakış açısı ile zarar vermemek ve adil olmak şeklinde yanıtlanmıştır. Geçtiğimiz 30 yılda yapılan araştırmalarla ahlak anlayışı oldukça genişlemiştir. Farklı alanlardaki ilerlemeler ahlaka daha kapsamlı bir bakış açısı getirilmesini sağlamıştır; özellikle ahlaki temeller kuramı (ATK), sadakat, otorite ve kutsallık gibi başka ahlaki ilkelerin de varlığını iddia etmiştir. Mevcut araştırma, iki niteliksel çalışmayla sıradan insanların ahlak anlayışını araştırmıştır. İlk çalışmada, ATK’nin ahlaki temel tanımlarını kullanarak katılımcılar tarafından nasıl algılandıklarını anlamayı amaçladık. İkinci çalışmada ise daha yapısal olmayan bir yol kullanarak ahlakı, ahlaklı insanı ve ahlaksız insanı nasıl tanımladıklarını anlamaya çalıştık. Bulgular çoğulcu ahlaki bakış açısını doğrulamıştır. Bununla beraber, ahlaki temellerde daha net işevuruk tanımların gereği ve çeşitli değişiklik önerileri dile getirilmiştir. Sonradan eklenen bir ahlaki kavram olan özgürlük, daha geniş yönleriyle birlikte ahlaki bir temel olarak da desteklenmiştir. Sonuçlar ATK’nin bakış açısını bireysel, toplumsal ve evrensel düzeydeki ahlaki ilkelerle genişletmekte ve ahlaki duygular, erdemler ve kötülükler gibi yeni araştırma alanları sunmaktadır.

This study investigated the bibliometric characteristics of an interdisciplinary field, Cognitive Science, which consists of contributions from diverse fields such as psychology, computer science, philosophy, linguistics, and anthropology, among others. The results showed that there were 4,711 publications in Web of Science between 1900 and 2017, with an exponential increase in the number of publications in recent years. About two-thirds of publications were classified as social science, of which 41% were in the field of psychology. Seventy percent of the publications were journal articles, half of the publications were written by researchers in the USA, and 95% of the publications were in English. Corpus analyses of abstracts and keywords showed that frequently used words included cognitive, science, research, theory, model, cognition, information, learning, and psychology. These analyses also showed that research in this field centered on the common themes of cognition, information, psychology, language, learning, representation, artificial intelligence, and mind before 2010 and focused on more restricted themes such as embodied and extended cognition, morality and religion, quantum, and music after 2010.

<description>Polarisation over the meaning of democracy: The case of political parties in Turkey

As the primary means of political organisation, political parties remain vital to contemporary democracies, making it important to investigate their understanding of democracy. This study explores the themes with which five largest political parties in Turkey associate democracy. We studied tweets posted by official accounts of these parties’ headquarters and branches, as well as by other Twitter accounts that are institutionally linked to these parties. We found significant differences between the government bloc and the opposition bloc as well as between People Alliance and Nation Alliance in terms of the themes with which they associate democracy. The government bloc and People Alliance use themes such as national will and military coups while referring to democracy. The opposition bloc and Nation Alliance emphasise themes such as equality, freedom of the press, and justice. We conclude that parties’ and blocs’ different attitudes towards democracy are indicators of political polarisation in Turkey.
